SCUSD is inviting currently enrolled TK-8 students to enjoy a summer of fun academic and enrichment activities with our FREE SummerMatters programs!
Students from any school may apply to any of the 27 available sites based on their grade level.

At the March 20 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education, the Board recognized Jolisa Cabrera, a 7th grade student from Sam Brannan Middle School as our Stellar Student. Jolisa is an advanced student with a 4.0 cumulative GPA and maintained straight A’s during her volleyball season, which will earn her recognition as a San Brannan Scholar-Athlete. Jolisa also excels at Robotics. Congratulations to our Stellar Student, Jolisa!
Staff Reports on Charter Renewal Published
As part of the standard renewal process, district staff publishes a summary report outlining key findings from the review of the charter school’s submitted petition. These reports, along with the charter petition and hearing dates, can be found on the SCUSD website at www.scusd.edu/charter-renewal.

Apply now for a before and/or after school program! Many programs are grant-funded and FREE to our families and some programs are fee-based at affordable rates through the City of Sacramento’s 4th R program and SCUSD’s Early Learning & Care department.

At the March 6 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education, the Board recognized Parkway Elementary students Juan Serrato, Kage Moua, Alexandros Ridgeway, Khaylia Myers, Sophia Casapao, JayLee Mallory, Mozamil Oriyakhail, Pakue Vang, and Avery Fuentes as Stellar Students. Parkway Principal Sharifa Siti-Bolton and teachers nominated the nine students for their academic success, kindness, leadership, empathy, respect, and hard work.

At the February 20 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Bella Lipscomb, a 6th grade student from Earl Warren Elementary as our Stellar Student. Bella has been able to lead by example and has made a positive impact in class. This year, she became class president, and has led her peers with wisdom and integrity. She has been an effective leader who sees the best in others, solves problems in a positive way, and supports her classmates.

K-8 Open Enrollment and TK Lottery Closes Friday, February 21
The deadline to apply for K-8 Open Enrollment or the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Lottery is tomorrow, February 21, at 5:00 pm.

Apply for your incoming K-8th grade child to attend a school other than their neighborhood school for the 2025–2026 school year, subject to space availability.

February 6, 2025
At the February 6 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Lillian Eastvold, an 8th grader from Albert Einstein Middle School. Lillian has been an integral part of the Einstein Robotics Team for the past two seasons and also devotes time to the Leadership Class and the DND Club on campus. Lillian has a 4.0 cumulative GPA with Outstanding Citizenship grades in all her classes in all advanced/honors classes. She was on the track team last year, running the 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, and the long jump.
