February Take-Home Test Kit Distribution

Dear Sacramento City Unified School District Families,

We are excited to inform you that we will begin a limited distribution of more at-home COVID test kits to our students and staff tomorrow (Friday, February 11).

We ordered 88,000 take-home test kits in hopes to distribute all of them this week in advance of our two 3-day weekends in February, but as you may know, supply chain challenges have resulted in shipping delays. Nevertheless, we have a portion of our order and expect to receive the rest next week barring any further shipment delays or quantity discrepancies. We are strategically providing what we have so far, this week, to our least vaccinated population of younger students and those whose schools surveillance test on Mondays as schools will be closed the next two Mondays. Every remaining student should receive take-home test kits by next week.

MONDAY TESTING

If your student comes home with a test kit this week, please administer a test on Monday, February 14 (a school holiday in observance of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday) prior to sending them back to school on Tuesday, February 15. If they do not receive their test until next week and are in need of a COVID test, we will be opening Serna’s testing center 10am-4pm on Monday, February 14, 2022 for the 3-day weekend to provide testing services to our entire community.

We also want to remind you that any time you have symptoms associated with COVID-19, like a cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat, headache, or loss of taste or smell, to please stay home until you are fever free for 24 hours, symptoms have improved, and you have tested negative for COVID or have a physician note clearing you to return to school.

REPORT YOUR TEST RESULTS

We ask you to report any results to help us get the clearest picture of our community case rate. Follow these simple steps to send your test result to Primary Health or watch our video at the top of this page that walks you through the quick and easy process.

  1. If you haven’t already registered for testing, register here.
  2. Go to primary.health and select the green bar across the top, “Registered already…” or if you are already registered with Primary.Health, follow the link that is texted or emailed to you.
  3. Follow the instructions to report your results.
