The High School Specialty Program Application is an opportunity for each student who resides permanently within the Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) boundaries to apply for enrollment in a SCUSD high school specialty program, based on space availability for the 2022-2023 school year. SCUSD offers specialty programs at both our neighborhood and small specialized high schools.

We are focused on ensuring that every 8th grade student has an opportunity to apply to the high school program they believe will provide them with meaningful, engaging, and rigorous learning experiences. In addition to a traditional high school program, SCUSD offers 30 different specialty high school programs of choice designed to satisfy various student interests and learning styles.

Application Process

Students are able to apply to a first and second choice program Monday, November 1 through Tuesday, November 30. The application is available at http://www.scusd.edu/hsapplication. 

We encourage families to take time to consider all their student’s options before applying. An application can be submitted anytime during the application window to be considered and there is no priority given to early applications. 

Two specialty programs – C.K. McClatchy HISP and John F. Kennedy PACE – also requires students to write an essay. Applicants will receive an email invitation to HISP and PACE essay sessions once they have successfully submitted their online application before the November 30 deadline. Essay sessions will be held in December. 

When eligibility requirements are met, applications will either be accepted or moved on to a lottery system. A lottery will be implemented when eligible applications exceed the grade capacity at the requested specialty program. If your student isn’t selected during this step, they will be placed on a waiting list for their first choice only.

The SCUSD Enrollment Center will mail out notification letters to applicants at the end of January 2022.

Proceso de solicitud

申請流程

Mẫu Đơn Chương Trình Trung Học Chuyên là một cơ hội cho mỗi học sinh cư ngụ thường xuyên trong ranh giới Học Khu Sacramento (SCUSD) để nộp đơn ghi danh vào chương trình trung học chuyên của SCUSD, dựa trên chỗ trống có sẵn cho năm học 2022-2023.  Học khu Sac giới thiệu chương trình chuyên cho cả các trường trung học nơi cư ngụ và các trường trung học chuyên biệt nhỏ.

Chúng tôi tập trung vào việc đảm bảo rằng mỗi học sinh lớp 8 có cơ hội để nộp đơn vào chương trình trung học mà các em tin tưởng sẽ cung cấp cho mình những kinh nghiệm học tập có ý nghĩa, hấp dẫn và nghiêm túc.  Ngoài một chương trình trung học truyền thống, Học Khu Sac giới thiệu 30 chương trình trung học chuyên lựa chọn khác nhau được lập ra để đáp ứng những sở thích và phong cách học tập khác nhau của học sinh. 

Đây là thời gian hoàn hảo để bắt đầu tìm hiểu về các chương trình nhằm giúp quí vị đưa ra những lựa chọn sáng suốt về kinh nghiệm bậc trung học cho học sinh của mình.  Những yêu cầu về mẫu đơn cụ thể cho mỗi chương trình đang có sẵn tại https://www.scusd.edu/high-school-specialty-programs.

Tiến Trình Nộp Đơn

Các học sinh có thể nộp đơn vào chương trình lựa chọn thứ nhất và thứ nhì bắt đầu vào Thứ Hai, ngày 1 tháng 11 cho đến Thứ Ba, ngày 30 tháng 11.  Mẫu đơn có sẵn tại http://www.scusd.edu/hsapplication. 

Chúng tôi khuyến khích các gia đình dành ra thời gian để xem xét tất cả những lựa chọn của học sinh trước khi nộp đơn.  Mẫu đơn có thể nộp bất kỳ lúc nào trong thời hạn nộp đơn để được cứu xét và không có ưu tiên cho những đơn nộp sớm.     

Hai chương trình chuyên – C.K. McClatchy HISP và John F. Kennedy PACE – cũng yêu cầu các học sinh viết một bài luận văn.  Các ứng viên sẽ nhận được một thư mời qua email cho phần viết luận văn của HISP và PACE một khi các em đã hoàn tất việc nộp mẫu đơn trực tuyến của mình trước thời hạn chót của ngày 30 tháng 11.  Phần viết luận văn sẽ được tổ chức vào Tháng Mười Hai.      

Khi hội đủ các điều kiện, các mẫu đơn hoặc sẽ được chấp thuận hay được chuyển sang hệ thống xổ số.  Một đợt xổ số được thực hiện khi các mẫu đơn đủ điều kiện vượt quá sức chứa của lớp cho một chương trình chuyên theo yêu cầu.  Nếu học sinh của quí vị không được chọn trong các bước này, cháu sẽ được đặt vào một danh sách chờ và chỉ dành cho lựa chọn thứ nhất mà thôi.    

Trung Tâm Ghi Danh của Học Khu Sac sẽ gởi các thư thông báo theo đường bưu điện tới các ứng viên vào cuối Tháng Giêng năm 2022.
