Free Before and After School Care

Dear Sac City Families,

It’s almost time to go back to school, and Expanded Learning is a great option for working families who need additional care or study time for their young scholar before and/or after school. All of our before and after school programs are grant-funded and families do not need to pay for these programs.

Free Expanded Learning programs are available for all Sac City Unified students entering Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The CDC’s Covid Community Level for Sacramento County remains at the High Level as numbers fluctuated upward compared to last week. The case rate is at 294.96, and hospitalizations are at 17.1 per 100,000.  As a reminder, the High Community Level for Covid means the District’s indoor masking requirement remains in place for both school and work occurring this summer. We will continue to update you on these numbers, and we thank you for your continued adherence to these safety measures.

Sacramento County COVID Community Level Update

Dear Sac City Families,

Sacramento County remains at the CDC’s High Community Level, but there are signs the data is trending downward. We want to emphasize that the case rate (279.76) and hospitalizations (14.2) are both at high levels, but both metrics are lower than in previous weeks.  Based on this data, the District’s indoor masking requirement remains in place as we start our summer programming. We will continue to update you on these numbers throughout the summer.

SCUSD Board Approves Budget for 2022-23 School Year

Dear Sac City Families,

At last night’s Board of Education meeting, Board members unanimously approved a proposed $690 million budget for the 2022-2023 school year.  This budget allows Sac City Unified to address important student needs with the use of one-time funding while keeping the District on its path toward long-term solvency.  The District budget is still subject to revision for a 45-day window after the State gives final approval to its budget.
