Monday-Friday COVID Testing Availability
Dear Sacramento Unified School District Families,
Welcome back from Winter Break. We’re happy to see our Students resume learning after some much needed rest. We also know that the highly contagious Omicron variant is spreading quickly, and that finding tests is difficult at this time with high demand and limited supply, and that you may be feeling anxiety about sending your Student to school. Regular testing is imperative to minimize the spread, so we wanted to remind you of the testing options that are available for SCUSD Students and Staff.
At-Home COVID-19 Testing Before Returning to School from Winter Break
Students and Staff may be exposed during Winter Break. Testing at home helps prevent the spread and keep schools open.
Step 1: Get the following materials:
- Two iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests (with instructions).
- A device with internet access for submitting your results at the link provided by your school.
Free Curbside Food Distribution on December 20 and 27
Join the SCUSD Nutrition Services Department for curbside food distribution events at nine different school locations on Monday, December 20 and Monday, December 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The boxes are available for all students, staff and community, limit one per vehicle while supplies last.
Distribution will be held at the following school locations:
Infinite Campus Unavailable December 18-20
Beginning on Saturday, December 18 through Monday, December 20, Infinite Campus will be unavailable to all staff as the district migrates to a cloud-based environment.
During this planned outages, students and parents will also not be able to access Infinite Campus via the mobile app or the portal login page (web page).
The district appreciates your patience and understanding as we work to improve our systems.

If you are seeking financial assistance for college next year, we want to remind you that there are multiple scholarships for Sac City Unified students. Applying for scholarships is one of the most important steps students and families can take in paying for college.

School looks a little different this year for all students. Navigating cyberbullying can be difficult, especially during COVID-19. October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and bullying prevention is one way to support students to get the most from their education.

Postponement of Special Board Meeting on October 5
Dear Sac City Unified Families:
The Sac City Unified Board had planned to hold a special board meeting next Tuesday, October 5 to consider the option of a vaccine mandate for the Sac City Unified School District. In light of Governor Gavin Newsom’s announcement today about the implementation of a statewide vaccine mandate for students and school staff, the Sac City Unified special board meeting scheduled for October 5 has been postponed until October 12.
The Board’s regularly scheduled meeting on October 7 will be held as scheduled.
Deadline Extended to Change 2020-2021 Grades to Pass/No Pass
Dear Sac City Unified Families:
This summer, high school students had the opportunity to request a letter grade they received in the 2020-2021 school year be changed to a Pass/No Pass grade as part of Assembly Bill 104. The grade change deadline was extended by Assembly Bill 167 last week.
