Volunteer to Serve Students through SCUSD Advisory Committees
Hello Sac City Unified Families,
Over the summer, the SCUSD Board of Education will be collecting applications from community members interested in serving on our district advisory committees.
Advisory Committee Members must be parents or guardians of a current SCUSD Student, and represent the trustee area they would serve. Right now we have three committees that we need community members to consider serving.
The first is the Restorative Justice Committee, which was newly created to explore, recommend, and support the integration of restorative justice principles and practices across the District’s policies and systems. Click here to apply.
The second committee is Local Control and Accountability Plan – Parent Advisory Committee. The LCAP PAC is a valued parent group with a front-row seat to district decision-making. Members of the LCAP PAC will have the opportunity to understand the budget and its impact on the services provided to students across the district. Click here to apply.
The final committee is the Community School Advisory Council, which collaborates with SCUSD staff about the rollout of the community school model at our schools that have received community school grant funding from the California Department of Education. Community schools partner with parents, guardians, and organizations to create the conditions students need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Click here to apply.
Thank you.
