An end of school year message from Superintendent Lisa Allen

e-Connections Post

As we bring the 2024-2025 school year to close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful things that are happening in the Sacramento City Unified School District.

To our recent graduates in the Class of 2025, I offer my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the next chapter of your life. I know you are ready!

Summer break is never the end for us. We’re excited once again to welcome students into our Summer Matters program, which offers not only learning enrichment for students, but also provides a safe place for students to stay engaged and connected with their peers.

We have had so much to celebrate this year as our district is “abuzz” with the sound of construction. In August, we will open three brand new schools at Nicholas, Cesar Chavez and Oak Ridge Elementaries. And we have also broken ground on the rebuilding of two other campuses at Pacific Elementary and Fern Bacon Middle School. Many other upgrades are coming to schools all over Sac City.

Additionally, we have created some incredible opportunities for our high school students to learn and grow through career technical education, including the launch of a Green Career pathway to help prepare our graduates to meet the needs of an evolving workforce.

To our students, enjoy your summer break and have plenty of fun. To our wonderful staff, thank you for all you do each and every day to support children and help them grow. So please take some time for yourselves and your families in the coming weeks. Stay safe and we’ll see everyone on August 18th.
