Full in-person learning, independent study, and CDPH guidance
With only one month left until the start of our new school year, our district is looking forward to welcoming students back for the 2021-2022 academic year and a return to full in-person learning. The first day of the school year for students is September 2, except for New Joseph Bonnheim Community Charter and Sacramento New Technology High School which begin on August 9.
While masks will be required for all students, teachers, staff, and visitors, Sac City Unified students can look forward to attending classes on their school campus and in-person time with their teachers and peers.
Please read the important information below. As our first day approaches our district will send reminders to families with information about the 2021- 2022 School Year.
A Safe Return to In-Person Learning
Consistent with guidance from the California Department of Public Health, our district will offer a full return to in-person learning, with continued health and safety measures in place. CDPH guidance suggests a layered approach and emphasized that with increased access to COVID-19 vaccines for those eligible, robust testing, and required masking in schools, in-person instruction can occur safely without minimum physical distancing requirements.
Our district is looking forward to a full opening following the COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for K-12 Schools in California, 2021-22 School Year. Our district will continue to offer testing at school sites and opportunities for vaccination. The COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended for all eligible people in California. In accordance with state and county health department guidance, Sac City Unified will require masks for all students and staff. The district will provide masks to students and staff.

Independent Study Option
Per state law, districts are required to resume in-person instruction and are no longer permitted to continue distance learning. For students who are not yet ready to return to full in-person instruction, Sacramento City Unified will offer a long-term independent study program, consistent with the recently enacted state law, AB 130.
As part of the independent study program students will receive access to standards-aligned content and courses required for graduation. This may include independent assignments, reading, computer-based activities, and interactions with their teacher.
While most work will be completed independently, live support consistent with AB 130 will be available for students. Live instruction, also called synchronous instruction, will vary by student segment consistent with AB 130:
- For TK – Grade 3: Students will receive an opportunity for daily synchronous instruction.
- For Grades 4-8: Students will interact with teachers each school day, and will receive synchronous instruction once per week.
- For Grades 9-12: Students will receive synchronous instruction at least weekly.

What Happens if there is a Positive Case at my School Site?
With more protections available for our community, CDPH quarantine guidance has changed. If a student or staff person in a classroom tests positive for COVID-19, our district will inform the parent/guardian of students who were in close contact with the individual. As of August 2, we will no longer be sending a community-wide message for all cases, however, the number of positive cases will be posted on the dashboard and updated regularly at reopeningdashboard.scusd.edu.
CDPH has found that a modified quarantine is now safe for mitigating against spread in school settings. According to the CDPH, Students exposed to COVID-19 at school may continue to attend school under the below criteria:

Đối với các học sinh chưa sẵn sàng đến trường học trở lại hoàn toàn, Học Khu Sacramento sẽ cung cấp một chương trình tự học dài hạn, phù hợp với luật tiểu bang được ban hành gần đây, AB 130.
Là một phần của chương trình tự học, các học sinh sẽ tiếp cận nội dung và môn học hiệu chỉnh theo tiêu chuẩn được yêu cầu để tốt nghiệp. Điều này có thể bao gồm các bài tập tự học, bài đọc, các hoạt động trên máy tính, và tương tác với giáo viên của các em.
Khi hầu hết các bài học sẽ tự mình hoàn tất, những hỗ trợ trực tiếp phù hợp với điều luật AB 130 sẽ có sẵn cho các học sinh. Giảng dạy trực tiếp, cũng được gọi là giảng dạy trực tiếp có tương tác sẽ thay đổi theo phân khúc học sinh phù hợp với AB 130:
- Đối với các lớp từ TK – Lớp 3: Các học sinh sẽ có cơ hội để nhận được sự giảng dạy trực tiếp có tương tác hằng ngày.
- Đối với các lớp 4-8: Học sinh sẽ tương tác với giáo viên mỗi ngày học, và sẽ nhận giảng dạy trực tiếp có tương tác mỗi tuần một lần.
- Đối với các lớp 9-12: Các học sinh sẽ nhận giảng dạy trực tiếp có tương tác tối thiểu hằng tuần.

Điều gì xảy ra nếu có một Ca Dương Tính tại Trường của tôi?
Bằng nhiều biện pháp bảo vệ luôn có sẵn trong cộng đồng của chúng ta, hướng dẫn cách ly của CDPH đã thay đổi. Nếu một học sinh hay nhân viên trong một lớp học xét nghiệm dương tính với COVID-19, học khu chúng tôi sẽ thông báo cho phụ huynh/người giám hộ của học sinh nào tiếp xúc gần với cá nhân đó. Kể từ ngày 2 tháng 8, chúng tôi sẽ không còn gởi thông tin cho cộng đồng về tất cả các ca nhiễm, tuy nhiên, số lượng ca dương tính sẽ được đăng lên bảng hướng dẫn (dashboard) và cập nhật đều đặn tại reopeningdashboard.scusd.edu.
CDPH đã nhận thấy rằng một sự cách ly được sửa đổi thì hiện an toàn để giảm thiểu sự lây lan trong môi trường học đường. Theo CDPH, các học sinh tiếp xúc với COVID-19 tại trường có thể tiếp tục đến trường theo các tiêu chuẩn dưới đây:

Theo CDPH, Các học sinh cung cấp giấy chứng nhận đã chích ngừa đầy đủ được miễn cách ly.
Nếu học sinh đang trải qua các triệu chứng, các em phải ở nhà 10 ngày hoặc đưa ra kết quả xét nghiệm âm tính.
Các học sinh do phải cách ly tại nhà sẽ nhận được bài học ở trường để tự hoàn tất. |
Các học sinh chưa chích ngừa có thể tiếp tục đến trường nếu các em:
Các học sinh không đồng ý hay không tuân thủ yêu cầu này, hoặc từ chối đeo khẩu trang, sẽ được yêu cầu cách ly tại nhà trong khoảng thời gian 10 ngày và sẽ nhận bài học ở trường để tự hoàn tất. |
Khi CDPH ban hành hướng dẫn mới, bao gồm Những Câu Hỏi Thường Gặp (FAQ) dự kiến cho các hoạt động ngoại khoá, chúng tôi sẽ chia sẻ những cập nhật bổ sung, và chúng tôi sẽ tiếp tục cập nhật mọi thông tin cho các gia đình khi có sẵn. Chúng tôi mong muốn được nhìn thấy các học sinh quay trở lại trường vào ngày 2 tháng 9 năm 2021.
