In November 2006 Sacramento voters approved creating seven
trustee (Board of Education) areas for electing Sacramento City
Unified School District governing board members. Voters also
specified that each governing board member be elected from a
trustee area by registered voters residing in the area. Board
member candidates must reside in the trustee area for which they
are running for election.
In November 2008, voters in school district trustee areas 3, 4,
5, and 7 elected their board members. In 2010, voters in areas 1,
2, and 6 will elect their board members.
