SCUSD to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies for Three Newly Constructed Schools
Cesar Chavez, Nicholas, and Oak Ridge Elementaries completely rebuilt thanks to voter-approved funding.
Sacramento, CA - Following the completion of two years of construction, the Sacramento City Unified School District will host ribbon-cutting ceremonies to celebrate the grand re-opening of each of its three new school campuses. The community is invited to attend for a tour and open house with free food and entertainment following a brief ceremony.
Free TB Risk Assessment Clinic Schedule for 2025-2026
Sac City Unified offers free tuberculosis (TB) risk assessments for staff, new hires and volunteers from 3:30-5:30pm on the following Thursdays:

Volunteer to Serve Students through SCUSD Advisory Committees
Hello Sac City Unified Families,
Over the summer, the SCUSD Board of Education will be collecting applications from community members interested in serving on our district advisory committees.
Advisory Committee Members must be parents or guardians of a current SCUSD Student, and represent the trustee area they would serve. Right now we have three committees that we need community members to consider serving.

June 26, 2025
At the June 26 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education, the Board announced out of closed session that Jasmine Piring Jones was appointed as Principal of Bret Harte Elementary School.
During the open session, the Board recognized outgoing Student Board Member Justine Chueh-Griffith for their dedication to the Sacramento City Unified School District and student body for the 2024-2025 school year.
