Our Director III, Student Health & Support Services, Victoria Flores, will be joined by Dr. Dean Blumberg, Professor and Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UC Davis Health to discuss vaccine safety, efficacy and next steps for families to report student vaccination status. Dr. Dean Blumberg is Professor and Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UC Davis Children’s Hospital in Sacramento. He went to UC Berkeley for his undergraduate education, Chicago Medical School, and did his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He did his fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UCLA and stayed there on staff until moving to Sacramento in 1996. Dr. Blumberg is head of Infection Prevention at the Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California. He has provided expert testimony at numerous California Legislative hearings and participated in several federal and international advocacy activities. He has worked on clinical trials with Ebola vaccine development in Liberia on behalf of NIAID. He is co-creator, executive producer and co-host of the Kids Considered podcast.
