We have an exciting educational live-music experience opportunity for students grades 4-12.

Capital Public Radio and the Harris Center in Folsom have partnered to present world renowned jazz clarinetist Ken Peplowski and his group in a student-only concert/demo/chat exploring Swing and Jazz, and discussing Benny Goodman’s historic 1938 concert at Carnegie Hall. This 10 a.m. concert on January 19th is in advance of that evening’s sold-out performance featuring Peplowski with the Sacramento Jazz Orchestra in a tribute to the 80th anniversary of the Carnegie Hall concert. They will also be distributing a brief educational/interactive handout for teachers to use with their students prior to coming to the concert. Tickets are $5 per student however ticket and transportation funding support is available. Ticket and funding requests for qualified schools can be made here:

Transportation Funding:
Available for classes of 25 or more students (see information below on funding limits). Applications are processed in the order received. There is a yearly limit of one grant per grade level per school. Your award is based on number of student tickets purchased. Adults are not eligible for the bus fund allowance, even if they are traveling on the bus with the students. You must order the minimum number of tickets listed below and make full payment within 30 days of placing your order.
• $75 Award Purchase 25-39 tickets
• $100 Award Purchase 40-59 tickets
• $125 Award Purchase 60 or more tickets

Ticket Funding:
There are a limited number of free/funded tickets available for each performance. Applications are processed in the order received. There is a yearly limit of one ticket and transportation grant per grade level per school for tickets. Funding is limited and may not be available for all qualified applicants.
