Constituent Bill Idea Contest
High Schools

Principal Bulletin Informational

Assemblymember Jim Cooper is inviting local high school students to participate in his “Ought To Be A Law” program. The program gives students an opportunity to submit their legislative ideas to the Assemblymember, who will pick a winner and is committed to introducing the legislation proposed by the student. The competition is open to any student. The winner will be publicly recognized by the Assemblymember and may be asked to visit the Capitol to follow the progress of their bill idea on the Assembly Floor. We strongly encourage you to share this opportunity with your students who are interested in government and public policy. The deadline is Friday, December 28 and one entry per class is allowed. Please forward this information to your government teachers and ask them to share with their students. Thank you!
