Sacramento City Unified to sign agreement with coalition of local higher education institutions in effort to lead California in the use of data to increase college entrance and completion rates
The agreement will help facilitate the exchange of student data between K-12 and higher education institutions to help students experience a seamless transition from high school to college.

WHO:                   Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Sac City Unified Board President Jessie Ryan and other Board Members, Superintendent Jorge Aguilar, Sacramento State President Robert Nelson, Chancellor Brian King of Los Rios Community Colleges, Charles Nies, Vice Chancellor of U.C. Merced, Rakeem Murdock a recent graduate from American Legion High School now enrolled in Sacramento City College, and other students.

WHAT:                 Local education leaders will join Mayor Steinberg and students in a signing ceremony launching this formal partnership between Sac City Unified and the region’s major leading higher education institutions. The innovative approach aims to make the Sacramento region the state leader in the use and exchange of student data to increase college entrance and completion rates. There will be a photo opportunity when the region’s education leaders gather to sign a giant copy of the agreement.
