(DRAFT) ESSER III Expenditure Plan
Available for Community Input

Under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, school districts received additional relief funds referred to as ‘ESSER III’ funds and are required to develop a plan for how they will use these funds.  In the plan, districts must explain how they will use the funds to address students’ academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as any opportunity gaps that existed before, and were worsened by, the COVID-19 pandemic.  The plan must be adopted by the Board of Education by October 29, 2021 and submitted to the Sacramento County Office of Education.

SCUSD has developed a draft plan for the use of its $154 million in ESSER III funding. This plan aligns to the goals and actions from the district’s 2021-22 Local Control and Accountability Plan, 2021 Expanded Learning Opportunities Grant Plan, and 2020-21 Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan.

The plan will be presented to the Board of Education for approval at the October 21, 2021 meeting.  Our next step is to hear from you.  Community input is an important part of our district’s planning process.  The voices of parents, caregivers, staff, students, and community members at large provide our district’s leadership deeper understanding of the community’s priorities and needs.  Below are links for viewing the district’s draft plan and providing your input.
