12/11/18 ELD Session 2 Secondary Foundational Literacy Skills Series This session is for any secondary teacher working to develop literacy skills of students reading more than two years below grade level, especially Designated ELD teachers.

First Mondays ELD Secondary EL Leaders CouncilRegular meetings on the first Monday of every month are scheduled for an advisory committee of English learner teacher leaders representing secondary schools to provide recommendations to the Multilingual Literacy Department for development of English learner programs and services.​

11/26/18 ELA Steps to Advance Training (Primary SDC)This session provides participants with an opportunity to learn, experience, and plan using the Special Education Supplemental Curriculum “Steps to Advance”.

11/27/18 ELA Steps to Advance Training (Intermediate SDC) Session Description: This session provides participants with an opportunity to learn, experience, and plan using the Special Education Supplemental Curriculum “Steps to Advance”.

11/28/18 ELA MyPerspectives “Essentials” Publisher Training Make-Up Day 2- Grades 7-12 This session is for a sequel to “The Basics” training held on October 16. Participants will dig deeper into the MyPerspectives components, instructional design, and unit structure of the program.

11/28/18 ELA Interventions in BMA  This session provides  Intervention Teachers with an opportunity to learn, experience, and plan using Intervention Resources in BMA. Please come with your “Intervention Kits” and Foundational Skills Assessment Book

11/28/18  SPED & ELA RSP Resources in BMAThis session provides participants with an opportunity to learn, experience, and plan using the Special Education Supplemental Curriculum

SPECIAL EDUCATION SESSIONS

11/13/2019 SPED Present Levels Page and Teacher Reports Participants will engage in learning regarding developing a well-written Present Levels Page and a comprehensive Teacher Report form that will obtain the data needed to drive instruction and services.
 

12/11/18 SPED Goals and Progress Monitoring  Participants will understand the relationship between baseline data, long term goals and short term objectives and how to write attainable goals that support concerns presented on the PLP.

1/15/2019 SPED Accommodations and Modifications including Statewide Testing Participants will learn how to develop the day to day supports students need to be successful and 
accommodate Statewide Testing (SBAC & CAA).

2/12/2019 SPED Classroom Management and Environment for New Teachers  Participants will evaluate the classroom environment and learn strategies to support their students through the use of engagement strategies, implementing BIP’s and developing stronger student relationships. 

3/12/19 SPED Dyslexia and Literacy Participants will be introduced to the  CA Dyslexia Guidelines and learn some basic strategies to support students with Dyslexia.  
 

4/9/2019 SPED Transition Planning This session will focus on articulation best practices that assure smoother transitions for our students and help professionals build systems that can generate outcomes that are compliant and propagate student first outcomes.   

4/23/19 SPED Positive Classroom Management and Behavior Support Learn the functions of student behaviors, the acting out cycle, and how to provide positive supports to encourage appropriate behavior.5/14/19 

5/14/19 SPED Reflections on 2018-2019: Goal Setting for 2019-2020  This session will provide the participants and opportunity to work collaboratively with peers and reflect upon the school year and look towards next.
