Senior Art Exhibitions Showcase IB Talent at Umoja International Academy

Artwork of a butterfly and cactus

Students at Umoja International Academy recently completed their Senior Art Exhibitions, a capstone project for the IB Visual Arts Internal Assessment as part of the High-Level Diploma program. Each student curated a personal exhibition of eight original works, accompanied by a thoughtfully written curatorial rationale and exhibition text.

The exhibitions were a powerful display of artistic voice, technical skill, and personal vision:

●     Jocelyn Ramirez explored themes of transformation and identity in an exhibit anchored by striking butterfly imagery.

●     Ava Sayre presented a collection centered on the female form, examining strength, vulnerability, and the human experience.

●     Lucy Higginbotham shared a serene yet dynamic exhibit featuring birds as symbols of freedom, migration, and emotional release.

These exhibitions reflect months of dedicated work and deep reflection. Congratulations to these emerging artists for sharing their stories so powerfully through their work.
