On a very warm August morning this past Saturday, The Sacramento City Unified School District Athletics department hosted its inaugural flag football camp inviting all incoming 4th-8th grade girls enrolled in our district schools.
The camp was held at Hiram Johnson High School and led by SCUSD High School Girls Flag Football coaches. Coach John Avery from McClatchy high school was the lead coach. In addition to the coaches, many current high school players helped lead drills throughout the morning.
Over 40 girls representing 21 schools attended the camp. SCUSD athletics is excited to reflect, learn and grow the camp to support the ever increasing interest in girls flag football.
