American River Open Cross Country Meet

Sacramento City Unified School District was well represented at the American River Open Cross Country Meet hosted by the Sacramento Running Association. Over 100 athletes represented more than 15 SCUSD schools across grades spans in both the boys and girls races.
In the girls 6th grade and under division Bailie Hurd (bib # 3210) from Caleb Greenwood Elementary School finished first. Anika Gotha (#3581) from Leonardo Da Vinci TK-8 and Abigail Manley (#3021) from AM Winn Public Waldorf finished in the top 10.
In the boys 6th grade and under division William Green (#3206) from Caleb Greenwood Elementary finished 5th.
Six Sac City schools finished in the top 25 schools for the girls 7th-8th division including Miwok (1st place) and Cal Middle (3rd place). The Miwok Middle School girls had 3 athletes in the top ten including the winner Chloe Font (#3868). AM Winn, Alice Birney, Genevieve Didion and Sam Brannan finished out the Sac City representatives in the top 25.
Miwok Middle School also won the team event in the boys division, led by 5 athletes in the top ten including top 3 finisher Wyatt Benton (#3840). Cal Middle School finished in 4th place in the team divisions followed by Leonardo Da Vinci, Genevieve Didion, Sam Brannan, Albert Einstein and AM Winn.
