Parenting and expecting students may enroll in a comprehensive program at the Hiram Johnson Family Education Center, located at 3535 65th Street. This program offers a variety of educational options for both male and female students and comprehensive services for infants, toddlers and preschool children.
Individualized instruction supports health, nutrition, social services and parenting education needs. Services are supported by Early Head Start and CAL SAFE. Completion of a high school education is the primary goal of Cal-Safe, California School Age Families Education. It provides support for student-parents through transportation, counseling, tutor referral, health education and other services. It also provides funding for childcare. The Early Head Start program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of young children.
All services at the Hiram Johnson Family Education Center are free of charge to student mothers and fathers and their young families.
