Superintendent Aguilar Seeks Engagement From Parents In Budget Solutions Committee

On Friday, May 10th, Superintendent Jorge Aguilar issued the following statement in response to leaders of the Sacramento City Teachers Association requesting that the State Superintendent of Public Instruction form a budget solutions committee to help the district prevent a state takeover. 

Superintendent Aguilar’s Full Statement

“We are committed to reaching a solution with all labor partners that will bring a permanent solution to our structural budget deficit and save our schools from a state takeover. The district will also seek engagement in this process from additional stakeholders including parents and community partners because maintaining the quality of education for our students should be the North Star that guides our decision-making.”

As a reminder, on Thursday, May 16th, the District will present an important budget update to the Board of Education as part of the 3rd Interim Report.
