Student art highlights Social Emotional Learning Summit on Friday, April 28
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a priority for Sacramento City Unified. SEL teaches skills for success in school and in life. Students are taught how to build positive relationships and develop self-management. SEL is taught in 60 percent of Sacramento City Unified schools and is in its fifth year of practice in the district.
To highlight efforts, student art work will be displayed at the Art of Compassion SEL Summit on April 28 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Serna Center Community Rooms. The Art of Compassion campaign ran during the month of February. Sponsoring Partners include the City of Sacramento Council Member Rick Jennings and the Superior Court of the County of Sacramento.
Student work includes digital, visual or performance art based on the theme of empathy. For more information on the Art of Compassion challenge, please visit: www.scusd.edu/art-compassion.
