SCUSD honors fall graduates with ceremony at Burbank High School

e-Connections Post

Congratulations to the fall graduating class of 2019! We are proud to share that on September 24th, the District held a graduation ceremony at Luther Burbank High School for 20 students who spent the past few months completing their final graduation requirements so they could receive their diplomas.

The Fall graduation ceremony celebrates students who demonstrate perseverance by working beyond the traditional school year to complete the credits necessary to graduate from high school. Last spring, 38 students in the Class of 2019 fell short of completing their graduation requirements and were unable to graduate in the Spring. This week, twenty of these students finally accepted their diplomas after completing the necessary requirements.

The District was honored to celebrate the accomplishments of these young students as they graduated before their cheering families and peers during the ceremony. This annual event pays tribute to the teens who worked extremely hard over the summer to earn their high school diplomas. The fall graduation included a customary procession to ROTC color guard, speakers, and traditional caps and gowns.

Congratulations to all of our Fall 2019 graduates!
