Rose Ramos appointed new Chief Business Officer for Sac City Unified

We are excited to announce that Ms. Rose Ramos has been appointed Chief Business Officer for the Sacramento City Unified School District. Ms. Ramos brings over 25 years of financial expertise to the District and has served almost half of those years as a Chief Business Official or in other executive-level financial positions in California public education institutions.

“Ms. Ramos has the right combination of financial expertise and commitment to improving the lives of Sac City students,” said Superintendent Jorge Aguilar. “I look forward to working with Ms. Ramos to improve our financial practices and to help guide our district in a direction that results in long-term financial sustainability to invest in our students.”

Ms. Ramos is currently the Chief Business Officer for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District in Concord and has had a long career in public education finance. She has served as Chief Business Officer for the River Delta Unified School District and as Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for the Woodland Joint Unified School District. She also served as Vice-Chancellor of Finance for the Los Rios Community College District. Ms. Ramos is a long-time resident of Sacramento and lives within the District’s boundaries. Ms. Ramos has served the Sacramento community for decades, both as a former Director of Accounting Services for SCUSD and as a community volunteer. Ms. Ramos has also volunteered for the Tahoe Park Soccer Club, Washington Neighborhood Center and other iconic Sacramento community organizations. 

“Coming back to Sac City Unified in this stage of my career and serving my district and community once again is an exciting opportunity,” said Ms. Ramos. “I look forward to applying my decades of financial management expertise to help improve the lives of kids in the District.”
