Personalized college eligibility packets help seniors learn about their post-high school options

e-Connections Post

If your student is a high school senior, they should have received or will soon be receiving a personalized college eligibility packet outlining which public college and university admission profiles most closely align with their current academic standing. These packets were delivered to all high schools on Monday, October 21st and are being distributed to seniors at school.

The college eligibility packets share information that helps each senior be aware of a wide array of post-secondary options that are available to them based on their academic profile. Each packet is specifically tailored to each student, by matching their academic profile with a variety of higher education options available to them based on their eligibility. These packets are just one of the many unique benefits our students receive from the District’s partnership with the University of California, Merced, and other higher education institutions. The packet also contains additional important information, including:

  • Where and how to apply for financial aid
  • Tips on applying for colleges and universities that students are eligible for and upcoming deadlines
  • Details on your student’s current academic profile including number of credits completed, UC/CSU GPA, A-G units completed, SAT score(s), college readiness and other important college eligibility indicators
  • Other helpful tips for deciding on higher education options that align with student interests

The District encourages seniors to explore the options available to them with their families and to also discuss these options and their post-high school goals with school staff and others.
