More 2022-2023 Back-to-School Updates

e-Connections Post

Dear Sac City Unified Families,

We hope you had a great weekend! School starts next Thursday, so throughout this week and next week, we’ll be sending you more information, forms and updates to help you prepare for the first day of school on Thursday, September 1.

FILLING OUT THE LCFF PROTECTS FUNDING

Families play a critical role in ensuring our Sac City Unified schools are properly funded. Although all students receive free meals regardless of income, the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) application still determines how much funding our district receives. You can help our school community by completing the LCFF application by October 31, 2022. It only takes a few minutes for you to help us protect critical funding for our students!

  • Fill out one application per household, whether online or paper, by October 31, 2022. The online application is also available in district supported languages.
  • Include all children and adults living in the household.
  • Families who wish to complete the paper application will receive it in their student’s Back to School packet. Please return the completed application to their school’s front office.
  • Please note that all the information submitted remains strictly confidential.

If you have any questions, please email LCFFsupport@scusd.edu or visit scusd.edu/lcffapp.

FREE BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Our before and after school programs managed by our Youth Development department are grant-funded and families do not need to pay for these programs. Free Expanded Learning programs are available for all Sac City Unified students entering Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade. Learn more about our before and after school expanded learning options for your student and apply today on our Youth Development website.

Please note that some of our sites have before or after school programs that are not operated by our Youth Development department and may be fee-based. Contact your school site to find out about all the before and after school program options that are available to your student.

RT RYDE FREE

All students in grades TK through 12 can take advantage of RydeFree RT. To participate in this fare-free ride program, students need a school issued ID card or a RydeFreeRT card. Students and youth who need a replacement card or don’t have a student ID can visit SacRT’s Customer Service and Sales Center located at 1225 R Street (adjacent to the 13th Street Station). Get the schedule and more information at RydeFreeRT.com or call 916-321-BUSS (2877).
