May is National Bike Month
May is National Bike month which is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling and encouraging communities to give biking a try. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of bicycles and an opportunity to come together with diverse stakeholders to raise awareness and inspire new riders.
The City and County of Sacramento, as well as local nonprofit organizations, are focused on developing more bike-friendly and walkable safe routes to help promote this increasingly popular form of transportation.
In honor of National Bike Month, the Board of Education has adopted a resolution directing staff to partner with the City’s Vision Zero, WalkSacramento and other leading partners in the Sacramento region to develop safe, walkable and bikeable routes to school that promote healthy lifestyles and economic growth.
