Healthy Summer Meals At The California State Fair
Thank you to the fantastic SCUSD Nutrition Services staff for participating and promoting our healthy meals at the California State Fair.
From Executive Chef David Edgar doing a live demonstration on how to make quick healthy kid-friendly summer snacks to judging during the Junior Chef cooking competition to handing out food samples and recipe cards to families. This has been an excellent time for everyone!
While having fun staff also took this opportunity to share information about our central kitchen and what it means to our kids, the district, and our community. Our nutrition team also shared that school lunch does not have to come from the freezer and inform visitors about our extended summer meals program.
During these events, the MCs promoted SCUSD school meals as being chef-driven and not the standard school lunch. Thank you to everyone for participating and for your hard work.
