Franchise Tax Board employees donate back-to-school supplies for Sac City kids
Sacramento City Unified School District would like to thank employees of the California Franchise Tax Board for choosing our students to be the recipients of their 2019 Annual Back to School Drive! The FTB’s school supply drive takes place every year, with department employees coming together to collect backpacks, pencils, markers, and other school supplies for students. Last year, FTB employees donated over 2,000 back to school items at the 6,000 employee Rancho Cordova facility.
“We have so many needy kids in our district and so many homeless. The school supplies will go a long way in providing these students with backpacks and school supplies to motivate them to go to school. We are very, very grateful. Thank you to FTB for everything you do to make this possible,” said Monica McRho, Homeless Program Coordinator at Sacramento City Unified School District.
FTB representatives delivered the Back to School supplies on August 14th at a ceremony held at FTB’s Rancho Cordova campus. The ceremony was attended by McRho and other District leaders including Superintendent Jorge Aguilar, and Board Members Christina Pritchett, Michael Minnick and Leticia Garcia. Newly-elected Student Board Member Olivia Ang-Olson also attended the ceremony.
