Chief justices visit Sutter Middle School
California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye and Chief United State District Judge Morrison England visited Sutter Middle School on Friday to answer student questions about the court system.
Cantil-Sakauye and England, both alumni of C.K. McClatchy High School, encouraged students to stay curious and keep learning throughout life.
“Everything I have has come from asking questions,” said Cantil-Sakauye. “And I’m still learning.”
Sutter students have been studying the three branches of government and have taken field trips to the Capitol, the county jail and county courthouse, said teacher Jodi Cooperman, who has coordinated the judges’ annual visit to Sutter for several years.
