Congratulations to Cal Middle School teacher Ms. Rebecca Long for being nominated for the California League of Middle Schools Region 3 Educator of the Year Award! Ms. Long serves as Cal Middle’s Leadership, Drama, and Media Broadcast teacher, and was nominated by Principal Andrea Egan.

Ms. Long was nominated for displaying amazing commitment to the school’s campus culture, sharing creative spirit with students and staff, and providing leadership to the school’s Arts program. She has served as an educator with Sacramento City Unified School District for 15 years.

“Ms. Long offers students amazing opportunities to enrich their lives,” said Principal Egan. ”She is an inspiration to many students, particularly in the Arts through our theater productions. Ms. Long’s energy and creativity are truly remarkable, and students love her for it.”

The award is given annually to California elementary, middle, and high school educators who exemplify educational excellence. Up to ten finalists from each region are honored locally. The nominees selected to represent each region are recognized at the annual California League of Schools Professional Development for Educators conference on November 19th.
