C.K. McClatchy Visual Art VAPA Program

C.K. McClatchy Visual Art VAPA Program

VAPA Visual Art students design and construct realistic and abstract works of art using a variety of materials, tools, and techniques.  They examine, analyze, and interpret traditional and contemporary works of art while their understanding of elements and principles of design are solidified and reinforced.  Individual and group experiences will promote problem-solving, creative thinking, and formal expression. Their trajectory of artworks from foundation to AP provides every VAPA Visual Art student with the opportunity to grow and explore through four years of art. This prepares them for a future of higher learning and careers in the arts, an option available only at C.K. McClatchy High School in SCUSD.
