Response to Public Comment

Question: Why is the district eliminating the Family and Community Partnerships Trainer position?

Response: The district is moving to a more school site-focused parent engagement structure, where parent leadership development and programs are built around the school sites. This restructuring is aimed at better supporting the needs of schools in the area of parent engagement. Creating this new structure, and considering the district’s lack of funds, staff will be realigned to provide services both at the school site and the Parent Resource Center, located on the first floor at the Serna Center.

Please note that the district’s Leadership Academy, developed in partnership with PTA, will continue.
