WorkAbility1 Summer 2018 Paid Work Experiences
Sacramento City Unified School District is guided by the mission to provide every student at every school with the tools they need to be successful. To be effective in this mission, we must focus on proven strategies that directly impact our students’ ability to access high quality instruction and receive the appropriate supports to help them become college and career ready. Further, we must identify and then address obstacles that limit or prevent students from accessing a high quality education.
With this purpose in mind, we will be transitioning our paid work experience program to follow the school year calendar, offering services between September 2017 through June 2018 to reinforce core curriculum concepts and skills leading to gainful employment. This will facilitate the cancellation of the previously scheduled summer ESY program for paid work experience. Students who completed and submitted applications for the summer program will be supported during the Fall 2018 school year. This evolution in the way WorkAbility1 services are provided to students will allow the program to support and promote more successful student outcomes in job placements.
