Earl Warren Get Fit Breaking the Jumping Jack Record

Earl Warren Elementary School students, with the help of The Kings, attempted to jump into the Guinness Book of World Records on Tuesday, October 11, as part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Jump!” obesity-awareness campaign.

The event began with a “Get Fit with the Kings!” rally featuring Kings’ representatives and dancers.

At noon, students and SCUSD staff joined Mrs. Obama via Skype to perform one minute of jumping jacks. The minute kicked off an effort to break the world record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. (To break the record, more than 20,000 people around the world will need to do jumping jacks for a minute. The exact record to break is 20,425 jumpers, set on March 22, 2011.) In addition, employees at the Serna Center also performed jumping jacks for a minute at noon.
