AREAS
OF SUPPORT:
Standards: This department supports the adoption of content standards
aligned to the California state standards and rigorous graduation requirements
for high school students. We
develop uniform end-of-course examinations for high schools consistent with the
goal of one common set of learning expectations and outcomes for all students.
We do this by actively involving teachers, administrators, parents and
community through public comment.
Instruction: Our department develops and implements core curriculum
aligned to state standards in key subject areas in grades 7-12 and also
implements vertical articulation of curricula and instructional programs in
these same grades.
Instructional
Materials:
Our department coordinates the adoption of instructional materials in
core subject areas for grades 7-12. Areas
include English-Language Arts, mathematics, history-social science, sciences,
visual and performing arts, and foreign languages.
Staff
Development:
We provide staff development to facilitate the needs of our teachers and
administrators to ensure that they receive the training and support they need to
serve their schools effectively, professionally and efficiently.
Our
office can be reached by calling (916) 643-9120.
