Description |
The Radio Outreach Collaborative has been established to
provide parents and community members’ timely information
related to the education of their children. This service is
sponsored by Sacramento City Unified School District,
Folsom-Cordova Unified School District, and San Juan Unified
School District to support parent involvement in schools and
the education of their children.
Weekly broadcasts in 5 languages (Hmong, Mien, Russian,
Spanish, and Vietnamese) serve to provide listeners
information about district or school events, assessment and
testing schedules, the curriculum and materials in use, health
issues, guidance on parenting issues, and resources in the
community among the key topics.
The radio hosts are mostly staff from the Sacramento City
Unified School District and they have received training on a
broad spectrum of educational issues, needs of parents, and
resources available to parents.
