Description |
MMEAA
provides leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to
schools and other departments to support the high achievement
of English Learners and language minority students.
The
department’s major activities include:

Support for curriculum development, selection, evaluation,
and implementation
-
Professional development for administrators, teachers,
support staff, and classified staff
-
Monitoring of implementation of all state and federal
requirements that apply to English Learners and their
parents
-
Support for parents of English Learners through a network of
Multilingual Parent Advisors
-
Coordination of program evaluation to determine
effectiveness
-
Development of resources, both human and material, to
enhance the learning experience of English Learners
