MMEAA support services

Description

MMEAA provides leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to schools and other departments to support the high achievement of English Learners and language minority students.

The department’s major activities include:

• Support for curriculum development, selection, evaluation, and implementation
• Professional development for administrators, teachers, support staff, and classified staff
• Monitoring of implementation of all state and federal requirements that apply to English Learners and their parents
• Support for parents of English Learners through a network of Multilingual Parent Advisors
• Coordination of program evaluation to determine effectiveness
• Development of resources, both human and material, to enhance the learning experience of English Learners
