Early Mental Health Initiative (EMHI) |
|
Description |
The Early Mental Health Initiative grant
funds SCUSD’s Primary Intervention Program (PIP). PIP is a
school-based program designed for the early intervention and
prevention of mild to moderate school adjustment difficulties in
primary (kindergarten through third grade) students. Students meet
individually with a carefully selected and trained family advocate
once a week for non-directive play. This level of intervention is
intended to deter students from requiring additional mental health
services or other professional interventions.
