Sacramento Heritage Drawing Competition
We are very pleased to partner with the Sacramento City Unified School District to sponsor the first student drawing contest in celebration of more than 40 years of historic preservation in Sacramento. The Sacramento Preservation Commission and Sacramento Heritage, Inc. (SHI) ask for your support in encouraging students to enter the contest and learn more about Sacramento’s history and cultural resources.
Attached is a PDF file specific to each school level containing a flyer of the drawing contest, instructions and an application. We ask that students submit their drawings and applications to the principal’s office by April 15 and that all contest entries be delivered to SCUSD Interim Assistant Superintendent Matt Turkie at the SCUSD office by Friday, April 22.
SHI and Preservation Commission members will judge all contest drawings and application essays. All entries will also be scanned for documentation by the Sacramento Community Development Department. A copy of the drawings will also be provided to SCUSD.
Winners will be announced by the SHI and Preservation 40th Anniversary Celebration committee by May 30.
Please visit the Sacramento Heritage website, www.sacramentoheritage.org to view other events associated with the 40th anniversary of historic preservation in Sacramento.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to this collaborative venture!
