Principal Bulletin Informational

Animal Services wanted to share the following information. A child recently died in Florida from having contact with a rabid bat. Unfortunately, this death could have been avoided if the parents had taken the child for medical treatment.

Several times a year, they respond to bats that are behaving strangely in public places. This can be an indication that the animal is sick. They feel it’s a good time to remind children to leave wild animals alone or get medical assistance if they have contact. Feel free to share this information.
