The drought has brought hard times to California and it’s time to educate the public about water conservation. SMUD will be hosting a free water wise workshop for teachers and outreach educators on September 26 at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center from 9 am – 4 pm. A class activity will be to take samples from the American River.  Curriculum from Project WET will be provided and breakfast and lunch will be served.

The workshop will be presented by Brian Brown of Project WET (Water Education for Teachers). Attendees will experience interdisciplinary activities to engage students about water resources, water conservation and other key-related science concepts.
