My Brother’s Keeper Summit
On September 25, Mayor Kevin Johnson will be hosting a My Brother’s Keeper Summit at the Sacramento State Alumni Center. The summit is designed to convene leadership, identify effective strategies and to encourage collaboration to accomplish a shared goal of improving life outcomes for young people, especially boys and men of color.
This is an opportunity for young people and adults to be involved in setting the Sacramento agenda for boys of color around three key areas that have been highlighted by youth as being most important to their success: Education; employment; and safety.
My Brother’s Keeper convening is targeting male high school students of color, including those involved in Men’s Leadership Academy or other culturally relevant classes/clubs or leadership groups.
Sign-ups for the 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event will take place September 8-September 18. Students may use the registration form attached or may use this link: My Brother’s Keeper E-Registration.
