Middle School ELA Curriculum Map Meeting
K-8, Middle Schools
As you know, we have district-wide curriculum maps that detail what we expect students to know and be able to do in each grade level and the sequence that the curriculum is taught. We then have district benchmarks that follow the curriculum maps.
To guarantee all students access to the curriculum we need all teachers to follow the curriculum maps. We are now going to go through a feedback process on the curriculum maps so that we can change/refine the maps as necessary. To ensure that the voices of all schools are heard we would like each school with 7th and 8th grade students to be represented.
As such, we are inviting ELA teacher leaders and/or administrators to represent the opinions of their school. The first meeting is set for March 29, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the Pennsylvania meeting room at the Serna Center. Teachers will be paid at their per diem rate to attend.
Please ensure that your school has representation, as this will be the group that will finalize the ELA curriculum maps for 7th and 8th grade for 2016-2017.
