LegiSchool Project Essay Contest, Town Hall
The LegiSchool Project provides a variety of free civic engagement activities and events to high school students around the state.
LegiSchool is a civic education collaboration between the Center for California Studies and the state Legislature. The essay contest this year asks students to consider whether the school day should start later. A teaching guide is available to help teacher incorporate this contest into the classroom.
Winners get to meet legislators and share their views.
A Town Hall Meeting on California’s changing tobacco laws will be held on Friday, December 9, in Sacramento. A curriculum guide is available for teachers.
