You can visit www.mlkcelebrationsacramento.org for more information. Essay submission deadline is December 4, 2013. Winners will be notified in advance so that they may attend the dinner.
The question for this year’s contest is: What is most important to you about Dr. Martin Luther King’s messages of peace, brotherhood and non-violence? Explain why.
The community is invited to attend the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Dinner. This is a very historic year as we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and the 15th anniversary of the Sacramento MLK Celebration event founded by Dr. Dorothy and Jerry Enomoto and the late Congressman Robert T. Matsui. The dinner celebrates the legacy of Dr. King and keeps his vision alive.
