2015 School Culture and Climate Survey (SCCS) 5th Grade Only
Elementary and K-8 Schools
The window for 5th grade teachers to administer the School Culture and Climate Survey (SCCS) is Monday, April 13 thru Friday, April 24. All 5th grade classes at all elementary and K-8 school sites will administer the survey online. The survey will take only 30 minutes.
The SCCS survey gathers information on developmental supports provided to youth, school connectedness; school safety; and social-emotional supports that are not only crucial to student’s mental health, but are also closely related to academic success. The survey will assess positive emotions, ability to build and maintain relationships and student’s self-perceptions.
The survey is voluntary and anonymous. No names are recorded or attached to the survey online or data. Students who return their withdrawal forms with their parent/guardian signatures will not take the survey (passive permission). There will be no questions asking for students’ personal information.
Permission slips will be mailed to all school sites via district mail during the week of April 6, 2015. Manpreet Kaur, Specialist II, will send the link to the survey to all the elementary and K-8 school principals. Principals will forward the survey link to their fifth grade teachers.
