High Schools

Principal Bulletin Action Required - February 9, 2018

The 18th Annual Cesar Chavez Youth Leadership Conference (CCYLC) is on Saturday, March 10, at UC Davis. The conference has become one of the largest student conferences in the State targeting students of color. The emphasis is on college admission requirements, financial aid, STEM, IT, diverse role models, cultural events and career opportunities in education, community and public service, law enforcement, military service, health, legal and other professions.

Transportation and lunch will be provided. The pick-up time from the site will be at approximately 7:15 a.m. and drop off will be at approximately 4:00 p.m. We are planning to take approximately 350 students and this will also be on a first-come first-serve basis however, we’ve reserved 12 seats for each of the small high schools/Alternative Ed sites; and 50 seats for each of the comprehensive sites. We can adjust as necessary as the date draws near.

The following is being asked:

  • Assign a staff member to serve as a designee and send their name to Christina Espinosa, CEspinosa@scusd.edu, by February 9, 2018.
  • Identify chaperones from your school site (1 for every 10 students). At least one must be certificated.
  • Student rosters are due by February 23 to your site designee.

Attached you will find the necessary field trip packet and a flyer for the event. Please contact Christina Espinosa at CEspinosa@scusd.edu if you have any questions.
