Intra-district Permits

You may apply for an intra-district permit to have your child attend a Sacrament City Unified school other than their neighborhood school of attendance

2018-2019 School Year Transfer Request

Intra-district permit requests are closed for the 2018-2019 school year. 

2019-2020 School Year Transfer Request

Intra-district permits will be accepted for the 2019-2020 school year between April 1, 2019 and May 17, 2019.

Permit transfers are approved based on space availability at the requested school. Please note that priority is given to Open Enrollment/ High School Specialty Program applicants for the 2019-2020 school year. 

You can request an intra-district permit transfer from the Enrollment Center.  A transcript and/or withdrawal grades as well as attendance and behavior reports are required when requesting an intra-district permit. 

Timeline for Submitted Permits
  • Please note that a submitted permit does not guarantee a spot and are NOT reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis
  • All permits will be reviewed the first week of June with responses to parents going out the second week of June. 
  • Parent/guardians will be called by Enrollment Center staff if the permits are approved. 
  • If the permit is denied the parent/guardian will receive a Letter of Denial with a reason.

Inter-district Permits

Inter-district permits are used to transfer in and out of the Sacramento City School District. Permit transfers are approved based on space availability at the requested school.

A transcript and/or withdrawal grades as well as attendance and behavior reports are required when requesting an inter-district permit transfer.

Change School From Outside the Sacramento City Unified School District to a School Within the District

If you would like to change schools from outside the district to a school within the Sacramento City Unified School District, you will need to request an inter-district permit transfer from your district of residence. Your current district must approve the inter-district permit first, and then you must submit it to the SCUSD Enrollment Center for processing. 

Request to Attend a School Outside the Sacramento City Unified School District

If you would like to change schools from your school of attendance to a school outside the district, you will need to request an inter-district permit transfer from the Enrollment Center.
