How Can You Be Involved with Youth Congress and the SAC?
The development of leadership is a life-long process that starts with the potential within you. Look around, does your site have a Youth Congress, Student Leadership class or group that meets after school? If you are interested in participating, start with your school site, reach out! SCUSD has established a system where youth congress members can participate on SAC and district wide committees. Students work with adults to address top priority issues regarding their respective high schools and key district issues and initiatives.
SAC fosters the leadership process by strengthening the student voice at the high school level. This process builds leadership skills, and offers opportunities for students to develop the basic skills that foster successful personal relationships, contribute to school site organization and work on district wide committees.
You can be involved and engaged in the SAC by participating on your school site Youth Congress or your site leadership class.
